When we talk about decency and the economics of business, we are talking about the same thing. I am saying that we, you and I, we all want peace, we all want decency.

As humans, we often fall prey to what I like to call "someday syndrome." It's this idea that right now isn't good enough, and that someday, things will magically fall into place.

Acknowledgment, as research suggests, is a cornerstone in retaining valuable employees, and witnessing genuine recognition in action was heartening.

We’ve all found ourselves close to a deadline and need others on our team to pull their weight or come in with their assigned work on time. If we are waiting for that moment late in the game to start holding people accountable, we’re already too late.

We have developed a culture in which effort is considered a success, not only in parenting but in the corporate world. I do believe that this was born out of a genuine desire to be more positive, supportive, and encouraging than previous generations were thought to be. But have we taken it too far?

We're not just saying "yes" to serving others; we're saying "yes" to a life infused with meaning and connection.

The beauty of accountability lies in its contagious nature.

Unfortunately,  we will never prove our self-worth if we look for it outside of ourselves. The journey for all of us is to discover our self-worth internally.  Here's a little hint: you already are worthy. However, as we work through that belief, how do we work through the immediate frustration of not feeling heard?

This is a redundant topic because as a human, I have to be consistently reminded that how I perceive the world is totally up to me. If that’s the case, does it make you wonder why we choose to think thoughts that create suffering?

We all manage ourselves, our companies, and our teams by setting goals; ideally, with goals that require a stretch but are achievable. Perfection - if it indeed exists - is an ever-evolving ideal and therefore does not make a realistic goal.

Regardless of whether you work in a creative agency, architectural firm, sales enterprise, corporate environment, or government organization, we all hold fixed points of view regarding what we can and cannot do and say. However, it is worth considering how much of this is a fixed reality and how much of it is shaped by our own thinking.
