From Panic to Purpose: My Fatherhood Story
Holidays can be emotional and different for everyone. Not all men are able to be dads, and some dads have lost sons. My father passed away over eight years ago, so this day is bittersweet for me.
Navigating the Holidays: Finding Peace Amidst the Chaos
I've been doing some research on anxiety to understand how we can better cope with the world we live in. It appears as if we are at an all-time high in crises. There are humanitarian crises both in the United States and around the world. People seem to be more reactive than ever.
Unlocking Excellence: The Power of Always Doing Your Best
Developing the practice of doing your best each day is not a one-time event; it's a continuous process that requires discipline and self-awareness.
I Have the Best Dad in the World
I can say with conviction that Momentum Consulting co-founder Craig Clark also happens to be the best dad in the world. 5 years ago I gave him a journal with 20 reasons why that’s the case. I recently found the journal and wanted to…
Check Yourself - Your Response Could Affect Generations
What justifies committing violence, a rant of swear words or any reaction severe enough to end a relationship? I was in conversation with a client about “temptations…”
Sometimes, Doing Your Best Means NOT Doing
I have typically thought of my best as working the hardest, going the extra mile and speaking up when I have an idea. However, it occurred to me that perhaps there were other, seemingly opposite ways for me to express my best.
On Values and Greenlights
We guide our clients in a process of revealing their Core Values and coach them on the awareness of the positive impacts and the limitations of those values. The most efficient way to accelerate our human performance is to be 100% true to ourselves and those we interact with. When we tell the truth, we align with ourselves and can be sure we are utilizing our best ability for the task or discussion at hand.
When You Know Better, Do Better
But, there is a lot more to this than obvious first impressions. First of all, your best right now is simply your best in this moment in time. This "best" of you now is different from your "best" of years past. Your childhood best is not your adult best, and it wouldn't even be fair to compare. Nor should we expect to compare a current "best" from person to person.
I'm Doing my Best!
Doing our best doesn’t mean being perfect. It means doing our best in the current situation at the current time in the current mind-frame with our current knowledge. By believing that everyone is doing their best, I can release myself from the situation and give every person the benefit of the doubt.
Always Do Your Best
Are you doing things with excellence? Really? Are you really doing your best? Try this on and see if it does make a difference in everything.
Always Do Your Best
I’ve noticed that when I:
Let go of control
Allow others to figure it out
Give others a chance to speak up
And listen generously
…I am then BEING my best as a leader. It’s no longer about me, about my personality or leadership characteristics, my new focus is on those I care about impacting: our clients, our team, our family and friends.
