How Valuing Confidentiality Shapes Our Lives
Why is this so crucial? It’s because every person we interact with has inherent value, and the way we treat them lays the groundwork for meaningful accomplishments.
The Art of Recovering and Thriving in Every Season
Acknowledgment, as research suggests, is a cornerstone in retaining valuable employees, and witnessing genuine recognition in action was heartening.
The Value of Trust in Confidentiality
If a person is editing their thoughts out of fear you might blab, you may end the conversation with a feeling of vagueness and irresolution, sensing you still don’t know their genuine opinions.
Broken Trust is Bad for Business
The lack of trust between and among management, staff and customers/clients can lead to:
High employee turnover
Low engagement and productivity
Reduced innovation
Reduced profitability

Respect Confidentiality
What people are willing to share with us is a gift and it enhances our ability to be clear and to make good decisions. The less willing people are to confide in us, the weaker the information we have to make good decisions.
Humans Have An Internal Guidance System
We dealt with what “ownership accountability” looks like in action. This level of accountability:
Starts with what I’m accountable for in my job, and what I’m paid for
2. It also includes my impact on others in how I get my job done
3. Finally, doing my job with an enterprise-wide perspective, that what I do, or what my team or area does, has some impact on the whole organization.
Coaching with Heart
The core of a successful coaching relationship is a bond of mutual trust. Both coach and client need to trust one another in order to openly and honestly explore both existing and potential new emotions, thought patterns and behaviors.
It's a Matter of Trust
In the workplace, trust is vital in many areas:
Employees trust that you will keep their personal information confidential, including discussions or actions related to that information.
Management and shareholders trust that financial data, proprietary information, trade secrets, processes and plans will not be shared with others unless agreed and/or required.
Management trusts that customers will pay for products and services delivered – and trust that they have recourse if that doesn’t happen in a timely manner.
Most importantly, it’s critical that your team trust you as a leader. You may demonstrate trustworthiness in many ways: respecting confidentiality, consistently evidencing ethical behavior, being accountable for your commitments and allowing the open and blameless exchange of ideas. If they trust you, they can follow you.
