Who’s Ready for 2025?

Do you see the new year (according to the Gregorian calendar) as a time to release what no longer serves you and embrace new behaviors? Whether you call them resolutions, intentions, or goals, take a moment to reflect on how these efforts impact your life over the long term. Many of us start strong, only to find life getting in the way. Before we know it, we’re left with another cycle of expectation and disappointment.

A few days ago, I came across a thought-provoking idea from Matthew McConaughey (@officiallymcconaughey): write a list of 10 things you want for yourself, from yourself. The twist? You don’t have to look at it every day. Wrap it up, forget about it, and let it resurface naturally. At some point, you’ll rediscover it and see how many of those aspirations you’ve achieved.

I love the simplicity and almost magical quality of this practice—writing things down helps them stick in the back of our minds, even if we don’t consciously think about them. My favorite part? Write it down, then let it go.

This approach feels so much lighter than creating a list of “shoulds.” Anybody else guilty of “shoulding” on themselves besides me? This list is a conversation between you and yourself—no outside opinions about what your life should look like. This blog dives deeper into this mindset.

The best part? Let go of the pressure to make it happen. No forced effort. Simply let yourself dream, write it down, and tuck it away. This process allows us to release expectations and attachments to outcomes. It’s not an either/or scenario.

Alongside this “magical list,” we can release worn-out behaviors that no longer serve us while adopting fresh, inspiring practices.

Thank you for giving yourself this coaching moment. Explore more insights and take away a little nugget of wisdom each time. We deeply appreciate you.

Wishing you a joyful and fulfilling 2025. Cheers to the new year!

With love,
Marlene
